Ms K's Diary

Ms K is an EO working in a department responsible for forefront anti-epidemic duties. Amid her busy schedule and heavy workload, Ms K has been trying her best to maintain her health, both physically and mentally. Let’s take a look at her diary and see what we can learn from her to stay healthy!

What an exhausting day! I have spent the whole day compiling a list of affected buildings in my district and planning urgent distribution of rapid antigen test kits to the affected households.  My eyes are sooooo sore, my back as well... For my own good, I must always remind myself to maintain proper posture and practise the 20-20-20 rule to protect my eyes!

Sad to hear that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases soared... NO! I must not allow negative thoughts to take over my mind!  Let me list some ways that help nurture positive thinking:

_Identify and stop negative thoughts

_Think rationally

_Focus on the positive things surrounding us

_Be thankful and express gratitude to the people around us (including my colleagues!)

I have been practising mindfulness recently.  It is a way to help me concentrate on the present and relieve stress and anxiety.  I really enjoy the moment of tranquility!

It’s like I haven’t stopped working over the past week. I have set a goal of exercising daily at home and have already found some home workout video clips online that are quite useful! Move move move!

It’s Saturday finally! Time to relax and I went for a walk. Breathing in fresh air and watching clouds really relieved my mind and soul.

I also called my parents to see if they were well. I reminded them to let me know if they need anything and share their feelings with me. Though it’s been difficult for us to meet during the epidemic, we’ve maintained regular contact as best as we could.

What a week of accomplishments! I’ve always wanted to and finally cooked dinner of different cuisines after a week's hard work. Refreshing my culinary skills to prepare nice meals for loved ones is beyond doubt an effective morale booster!
