Relief of pain through massaging acupoints

Prolonged stress may affect our health to a varying extent, with common symptoms including headaches, musculoskeletal pain, stomach pain, diarrhea, and insomnia. We can try to apply pressure to specific acupoints of our body to unblock meridians and relax ourselves.
Relieving a headache

Fengchi acupoint (風池穴)
Location: At the back of the neck and in the hollow near the hairline
Efficacy: Helps relieve headaches and eye fatigue
Baihui acupoint (百會穴)
Location: At the intersection of the midline on the top of the head and the line connecting the tips of both ears
Efficacy: Strengthens body functions and helps relieve headaches
Yingxiang acupoint (迎香穴)
Location:

Sit in an upright position and slide upward with fingers along the nasolabial groove from the sides of the nose wings; at the midpoint of the groove, a small depression can be found and slight soreness will be experienced when pressed
Efficacy: Helps dispel wind-heat and clear nasal passages

Jianjing acupoint (肩井穴)
Location:

On the shoulder and at the midpoint of the line connecting the Dazhui point and the tip of the shoulder
Efficacy: Helps relieve shoulder and neck soreness

Hegu acupoint (合谷穴)
Location: Between the first and second metacarpal bones, and near the midpoint of the second metacarpal bone
Efficacy: Provides quick pain relief and helps alleviate headaches
Yuji acupoint (魚際穴)
Location: Bend the thumb inward; the point is on the fleshy area of the palm that protrudes near the base of the thumb
Efficacy: Helps relieve numbness and discomfort of the hand

Location: Bend the elbow at a right angle; the point is at the midpoint of the line connecting the end of the elbow crease and the lateral epicondyle of the humerus
Efficacy: Relieves hand pain and helps alleviate rashes and regulate blood pressure

Location: Bend the elbow; from the outer end of the elbow crease, measure three finger-widths downward along the forearm
Efficacy: Helps relieve discomfort of the hand

Extend your right arm straight. Use your left hand to press the right palm toward your body until you feel a gentle stretch. Hold for ten seconds, repeat five times, and alternate between both hands.
