2023 is the 17th year that the volunteer team of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) Staff Club has participated in the New Year Flower Giveaway activity to convey their blessings to the needy and promote the messages of waste reduction and recycling to the public.

In the rainy morning on the first day of the Year of the Rabbit, 15 FEHD volunteers arrived at the Lunar New Year (LNY) Fair at Victoria Park in great spirits and assisted the Department in delivering over 100 pots of flowers and plants collected from the vendors to over 30 elderly homes/residential care homes for persons with disabilities and public hospitals. All the volunteers were satisfied and delighted to see the joy of the beneficiaries when they received the flowers. The New Year Flower Giveaway activity was conducted smoothly with the enthusiastic participation and selfless devotion of all FEHD volunteers who contributed their precious time for family gathering in the early morning of the first day of the LNY and sent warm wishes to those in need in this festive season.
