| Appointments
Appointments to the Civil Service are based on the principle of open and fair competition. Civil service vacancies are filled by selection from among eligible candidates through a competitive process on the basis of merits. It is the aim of the Government to appoint the best person for the job. As an Equal Opportunities Employer, the Government is committed to eliminating discrimination in employment particularly in terms of disability, sex, marital status, pregnancy, age, family status, sexual orientation and race.
