Closing Speech by SCS at the Prize Presentation Ceremony of the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2007
Following is the translation of the closing speech by the Secretary for the Civil Service, Miss Denise Yue, at the Prize Presentation Ceremony of the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2007 today (September 13):
Distinguished guests, fellow colleagues, ladies and gentlemen,
All the winners of the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2007 have been announced. The winning departments and teams have demonstrated their perseverance and commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement. I believe all of you will agree that they deserve commendation for their outstanding achievements.
I believe the participating departments and teams, be they winners or not, have all benefited from the Award Scheme. Preparation for the competition should have enhanced their team spirit. The rigorous assessment by the adjudicators should have also helped them better understand their own strengths and weaknesses, paving the way for further improvement in the future.
I would like to congratulate the winning departments and teams once again. Also, I would like to take this opportunity to salute all civil service colleagues for their dedication to providing the public with a variety of excellent services unfailingly. I sincerely wish every one of them further success. Thank you.
