The Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme, organised by the Civil Service Bureau biennially since 1999, aims at promoting a customer-oriented service culture in the Civil Service and encouraging the pursuit of excellence in the delivery of public service. In addition to recognising the achievements of the winning departments and teams in the provision of excellent service, the Award Scheme aims to encourage fellow civil servants to take heed of the winners’ successful experiences and strive for continuous improvement.
The winners of the 2013 Scheme were announced at a prize presentation ceremony on 6 September 2013. Awards were presented to a total of 22 bureaux and departments. Their exemplary services demonstrate civil servants’ professionalism, innovativeness, enthusiasm and impartiality in serving the public, and have won wide recognition from citizens. I am proud of all the colleagues involved.
Officiating at the ceremony, the Chief Executive, Mr C Y LEUNG, congratulated all the winning departments and teams, and extended his appreciation to colleagues for their professionalism and commitment to serving the community.
Another officiating guest, the Hon Mrs Regina IP LAU Suk-yee, who chaired one of the adjudication panels for this year’s Award Scheme, praised civil servants for their pro-activeness and innovativeness, and the effective partnership among departments in rendering quality service.
To promote the commendable efforts of the award winners and their success stories, the Civil Service Bureau has launched a thematic website (www.servicexcellence.gov.hk) to showcase the winning entries.
Furthermore, a one-hour television programme produced by our fellow RTHK colleagues featuring the winning entries will be aired on TVB Jade at 7:30 pm on 28 September 2013, Saturday. Do enjoy it with your families and friends.
Let us continue to give our best to serve the Hong Kong community.
