Recruitment of Administrative Officers and Executive Officers II in 2007/08 starts tomorrow
The Government will start conducting a recruitment exercise tomorrow (September 15) to select around 40 and 150 candidates for appointment on civil service terms as Administrative Officer (AO) and Executive Officer II (EOII) respectively in 2007/08.
The application period will run from September 15 to October 8. Recruitment advertisements will be placed in the South China Morning Post, Ming Pao and Sing Tao Daily on September 15, 22 and 29, 2007 and on the Civil Service Bureau's homepage (at www.csb.gov.hk) from tomorrow. For the recruitment of AO, advertisement will also be placed in the overseas editions of Ming Pao and Sing Tao Daily on September 15 and 29, 2007.
The advertisements will also be accessible at the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government portal, GovHK, on the Internet (at www.gov.hk).
The recruitment is open to all permanent residents of the HKSAR (for the AO post, applicants should have at least seven years of residence in Hong Kong) who possess the required degree from a university in Hong Kong (or equivalent qualifications) or those who are undergraduates taking their final degree examinations in summer 2008. Applicants may refer to the advertisements for details of the qualification requirements.
All AO and/or EOII applicants would need to obtain "Level 2" results in the two language papers (i.e. Use of Chinese and Use of English) and a pass result in the Aptitude Test in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) before they are qualified to apply for the AO and/or EOII post(s).
Applicants who do not possess the requisite CRE results, or equivalent, but have applied for the coming CRE to be held on October 6, 2007 in Hong Kong or on November 24, 2007 in overseas cities may also apply. Their applications will be processed subject to their obtaining the requisite results in the aforesaid CRE. Applicants are also advised to refer to the advertisements for details regarding the requisite CRE results.
Qualified applicants possessing the requisite CRE results, or equivalent, will be invited to attend the Joint Administrative Officer/Executive Officer Recruitment Examination (Joint AO/EORE) on November 24, 2007. Candidates residing or studying outside Hong Kong may take the Joint AO/EORE on the same date in any one of the six overseas examination cities.
Application forms (CSB 606 and CSB 606A) (Rev. 9/2007) are available at the Public Enquiry Service Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department and any Job Centre of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department, or they can be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's homepage (at www.csb.gov.hk).
Applicants can make on-line applications directly through the Bureau's website. Each applicant should only submit one application, either by hand, by post or through on-line application. Duplicate applications will result in delay in processing and applicants may not get sufficient notice for being invited to attend the examination(s).
