Functions
To carry out the provisions of the Widows and Orphans Pension Ordinance for the granting of pensions to widows and orphans of deceased public officers who contributed to the Widows and Orphans Pension Scheme.

Conduct of Business
The Director of Accounting Services is empowered by the law to pay widows' and orphans' pension on behalf of the Directors on the death of contributors in routine cases. Other cases are considered by Board Members through circulation of papers. Meetings are convened whenever the need arises.
