Leadership Forum 2005 – Successes through Ethical Governance
An honest and clean civil service is the cornerstone of effective governance. Following the success of the Leadership Forum 2002, the Civil Service Bureau and the Independent Commission Against Corruption staged another forum, entitled "Leadership Forum 2005 – Successes through Ethical Governance" on Thursday, 16 June 2005 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Six leading chambers of commerce and the Hong Kong Institute of Directors participated as co-sponsors of the event. The Forum was well attended by some 1,000 senior executives from both the public and business sectors.
Objectives
The Forum serves the following objectives -
- To examine the major issues of concern and ethical challenges faced by leaders of the public and the private sectors
- To share experience in handling ethical challenges and integrity management; and
- To demonstrate determination to uphold integrity and entrench an ethical culture

Programme
It was a one-day event comprising several keynote speeches, a luncheon talk, and two concurrent workshops designed to bring together government and corporate leaders to share experience in building successes through ethical governance. A number of prominent speakers from the Mainland, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States and Hong Kong shared their insight with participants at the Forum.
