Adminstrative Officer, Executive Officer II, Assistant Labour Officer II and Assistant Trade Officer II applicants are reminded to apply for Common Recruitment Examination and Basic Law Test
The Government will conduct the next round of recruitment exercise for the posts of Administrative Officer (AO), Executive Officer II (EOII), Assistant Labour Officer II (ALOII) and Assistant Trade Officer II (ATOII) in September.
Applicants who wish to apply for any of the four posts but do not possess the requisite Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) or equivalent results are reminded to file a separate application for taking the relevant CRE paper(s) during the application period from tomorrow (August 2) until 5pm on August 15 (Hong Kong time). Candidates applying to sit for the CRE may also apply to take the Basic Law Test (BLT).
All applicants will need to obtain "Level 2" results in the two language papers (i.e. Use of Chinese and Use of English), or equivalent; and a pass result in the Aptitude Test in the CRE before they are qualified for any of the four posts.
From September 1, the test of Basic Law knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. The test result of BLT will be one of the considerations to assess the suitability of a candidate.
Details about the examination will be available on the homepage of the Civil Service Bureau (www.csb.gov.hk) from tomorrow onwards. Applicants for any of the four posts would not be automatically arranged to attend the CRE and BLT.
Details about the 2008-09 AO, EOII, ALOII and ATOII recruitment exercises will be announced in September.
