Sharing Moon Cakes with Singleton Elderly
'Sharing Moon Cakes with Singleton Elderly' is one of the events under the theme 'Care for the Community' of the Civil Service Volunteer Action, organized by the Yang Memorial Methodist Social Service Choi Hung Community Centre for Senior Citizens, Civil Service Bureau, Correctional Services Department Volunteer Team and Rating and Valuation Department Volunteer Team. The activity was held on 22 September 2007. Around 600 volunteers took part in the event, including volunteer team members from voluntary agencies and commercial corporations as well. They visited about 1600 elderlies residing in Choi Hung Estate. The volunteer teams distributed Mid-Autumn Festival gift packs to the elderlies and wished them an enjoyable Mid-Autumn Festival.

The kick-off ceremony of the event was held at S.K.H. St. Benedict's School. Commissioner of Rating and Valuation, Mr Lo Hing-chung, Deputy Commissioner of Correctional Services, Mr. Ying Kwok-ching and Assistant Secretary (Staff Relations) of Civil Service Bureau, Mrs. Flora Li officiated at the ceremony and presented certificates to representatives of the volunteer teams to recognise their participation in this meaningful event.
After the ceremony, the officiating guests led the volunteers to Choi Hung Estate to visit the elderlies and distribute gift packs to them.
