Integrity checking

Civil servants are subject to an integrity checking system as part of the civil service recruitment, promotion and posting mechanism. The system is to ensure that serving and potential employees are of good character and high integrity. It serves to contribute to public confidence in the Civil Service.

In general, all persons are required to undergo different levels of integrity checking before taking up government appointments. The level of checking applicable will depend on the nature or rank of the post to which a candidate is to be appointed.
