Eligible officers may claim a Local Education Allowance and/or an Overseas Education Allowance for their children's full-time education in an approved school or education institution.

Overseas Education Allowance and Local Education Allowance have been ceased for officers who were offered appointment on or after 1 August 1996 and 1 June 2000 respectively.
