Leave Passages

 

Leave passage benefits are normally provided to directorate officers in the form of a Leave Passage Allowance.  Details of the leave passage benefits for civil servants provided before and after the introduction of the new fringe benefits package on 1 June 2000 are summarised below:

 (a)   For those offered appointment to the civil service on or after 1 June 2000 -

On or above Point 7 of the Directorate Pay Scale

Eligible officers receive a non-accountable allowance at the end of each 12-month period. The allowance is granted only to the officers themselves, and  not to their family members.

On Points 4 to 6 of the Directorate Pay Scale

$28,090

On Points 1 to 3 of the Directorate Pay Scale

$14,045

 

 (b)   For those offered appointment to the civil service before 1 June 2000, the most common leave passage benefit terms are as follows -

On or above Point 7 of the Directorate Pay Scale

$53,320

A fully accountable  allowance is granted to officers on or above Point 4 of the Directorate Pay Scale in each 12-month period and those on Points 1 to 3 in each 24-month period. The officer’s spouse and dependent children are also eligible for the allowance, subject to a total amount of allowance not exceeding that for five adults.
